I do use 24/0.
That is as big as I go.
The one in the center is a 20/0.

Those things are HUGE . . .  I did manage to find a BIGGER one ( don't know the size ), but I sure wouldn't want to try to unhook whatever ate it !

The 24/0 pictured is Carbon steel.
$4 each from Catch All Tackle.
My dehooker doesn't work well with anything larger than a 20/0.
The long shanks make it impossible to roll the hook out.
I need to make my own out of rebar.

EzDave, now I'm considering the logistics of casting that hook...   I've got way too much time on my hands....

Funny, casting it occurred to me, also . . . I'm thinking along the lines of a Trebuchet to toss it and a "side of beef" - LOL !
