Hi,Thank you for the great site. If you had to pick only one basic reel design to fish & to make it into something that it is NOT, by modifying or"upgrading" with aftermarket or custom parts what reel would you start out with.newell,accurate,tiburon,progear all started out by making penn jigmasters & senators better, van stall made the crack 300 better for us spinning guys.

What type of fishing?  Surfcasting?  Mono, spectra,...?  # test?  There are so many options, but it depends on your application and target fish.  Please send us more info.
