After a day of saltwater fishing I wash my reels off with the kitchen sink sprayer and pat it dry with a towel ,let it finish air drying and spray CRC silicone on all external parts .Am I doing the correc thing ? Any suggestions ?

I have Shimano lever drag overheads:
Set drags on full ... Lean rods next to boat ... Set hose spray to mist .... wash reels .... release drags .... let dry in shade.

Then service annually.

the trick is go go through all of these reels before even fishing with them.  what's really nice is to rinse them with fresh water and then towel dry them.  usually i give one kid a water hose and the other the air compressor to blow the water out.  alan
