hi all!
do u guys advice using compressed air to clean out bearings?
Why do some discourage this method?

Alan normally recomends carb cleaner blown out with compressed air. I've heard all sorts of things like the air driving dirt into the metal. You got to have some hard core pressure for that to be a concern!  Air alone won't always get the nasty gunk out, better to use a solvent first.

The problem with using air pressure to blow out bearings after cleaning is that a lot of people like to see & hear the bearings spinning as fast as they can. Its OK to use compressed air to blow out bearings, just hold them so that they will not spin. Remember that after cleaning it is UNlubricated & they aren't built for that RPM.      Rudy

I'm careful not to overspin the bearing and just blow sideways at first.
