Has anyone ever painted the plastic side plates on a Senator?  I'm not real fond of the burgundy.  Maybe it is too close to the colors of my team's arch nemesis.  haha  I bought an airbrush this morning and am DYING to try it on something.  Would you just scuff it with some 600 and degrease it?  Or would you use some sort of primer or adhesion promoter?

Give them a light sand wirh 1200 wet & dry. When you paint them use an etch primer thinned with Methylated spirits. If your going to use enamel for color put on a very fine coat first and let it dry completely. Enamel thinners can do horrible things to some types of plastic. Or use acrylic which won't last as long but is safer and also safer to spray.  When your done give it several light coats of clear

I was thinking of starting with an etch primer, then acrylic color, then finish it off with a catalyzed urethane clear.

Should be fine....Better put some pics up when you're done
