Newell G 440

My anti reverse on my Newell G440 f will not hold and I can't figure it out
anyone have any ideas? Thank you

Start with

You snaped the dog spring
the dog is rounded on the end
The reel is dirty & over greased on the in side
You have taken the reel apart & put the dog in up side down.
Could be the Bridge Sleeve but never saw one go bad except when the shaft gets loose from the plate.
