Red Pig Reel

Hi All, Alan have you ever worked on a Red Pig reel ? I picked up a 18W NIB
I remember reading a post on them in the Hull Truth a long time ago but i can't 
recall it. I don't know weather to keep it or sell it.

never seen one, but i believe that they were made in asia.  i know that there was a long discussion on thehulltruth.com.  such a discussion is something i would never allow at my dinner table with my family present, and i would not allow it here.  

reels like this, the canyons, the releases, the omotos, jm's, they are all fine, but they do require that you take the time to learn the reel and know how to service them.  if this was a sidearm, you would never carry it while on duty unless you had absolute confidence in it.  i know that reels are not held to the same standard as a serivce weapon, but they should be.
