I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and thank you all for the great forum.

My name is John and I'm a fisheries biologist here in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii.  I have been an avid angler my entire life Offshore, Inshore, freshwater, and have experience onboard commercial fishing vessels, and conducting research on pelagics, sharks, bottomfish, salmon/trout,  seals, sea turtles, and seabirds.  Though now I spend most of my time in an office with commercial fisheries-derived data.

I have always enjoyed taking things apart, figuring out what makes em tic, and reassembling.  Although, I have some experience servicing, reels of my own as well as those of friends and family, this site as well as the local fishing Ohana have given me the confidence to expand to a part-time buisness.  I have had more work than I could have hoped for and am developing the skills and confidence that goes along with the pride taken in a job well done.  Repairing many reels has been continuing to teach me humility and patence.  The local knowledge (which far exceeds my own) and support has been tremendous!

Thank you all for the great site... a valuable resource, and source of inspiration!
