Hope this is the right area to post this.  In the Jan 2014 issue of Pacific Coast Sportfishing on page 16 is an article of catching large cow YFT near shore.   In a 24 ft Panga a local fisherman named Memo caught a 386 lb YFT.  In the picture I am guessing the tuna to be at least 7' long.  This may not be a large tuna (by world record standards) but for Baja this is a HUGE tuna!!  This is near La Playita and is in the Baja backyard (frontyard) of our beloved Dominick.  Especially for Baja fishermen, this is an interesting article and hopefully of more YFT to come!!

ps:  maybe someone with more expertise than me could post a pic from the magazine or import one from their website--if that is allowed.

TomT:  I looked on the internet but could not find a picture.  BD Outdoors did not have anything on it either.  A photo will show up sooner or later.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

I think you might find a pic in The mid December Gringo Gazette.

Gringo Gazzete?  :D Is that for real? ;D
I looked to post a pic as well and couldn't find one.
Send me one Tom and I'll post it up.

Daron:  Yes there is a Gringo Gazette.  It is an English language newspaper given away free down in the Los Cabos area.  TomT the tuna you were talking about was caught on November 16, 2013.  It was just after the WON Tuna Jackpot Tournament.  Here is a link to Eric Bricstons Gordo Banks Pangas.  He posted the photo on his site.  Roam around his site he has some good fish porn.  Dominick     http://gordobanks.com/2013/11/

Yeah Dominick, that is the YFT in the magazine I get.  I would like to hook that fish with one of our tricked out Penns--if I can ever get mine complete!!   ;)  Nice Tuna.  While in Baja, I read the Gringo Gazette too.  I'll probably head back down in mid-Feb.

Now that is a fish.  They don't get that big here in HI (200+ are somewhat common though).  Someday I'll make it down there for a chance at a 300lb + giant on standup.  Unfortunately, I'm afraid my dad has gotton too old to make the trip now though.
Hope springs eternal
for the consumate fishermen.
