reognize this line?

i got my hands on a used reel, i was told it was spooled with 40lb braid, i went home examined it carefully and realized it was 16 strand hollow core braid, i was originally gonna strip it off and throw it away , but now i fell like it could be worth something.....it looks like tufline's salt and pepper line except the black(pepper) is green instead of black, any ideas?

Use it for backing on another reel it'll outlast most of the posters on this forum (!)

Sounds like the old Greenspot Dacron. Not real great line compared to spectra. Unlike spectra, it will degrade in sunlight, etc. I used to use it on an Ambassadeur for bottom fishing in the early '90's.
