SHIMANO CORSAIR CS400A HELP ME PLEASE

I do hope someone can help me as my corsair has a spool release grey plastic release for disengaging the spool for casting.  But now nothing happens when I press the bar.  Can anyone PLEASE show me how to re engage the bar after I take the handle side plate off as I don't know how it is supposed to be engaged.  Thanks Rose from Down Under

You need to disengage the working mechanism before putting the side plate on. Be sure to raise the spool release thumb bar to the top before you fit the plate. When it's in place, turn the handle to engage the spool, and it will work fine.
