I have the gold 14/0 and the Black 18/0. I also have a Silver 20/0 that has been sitting in customs since last Thursday.

I have been trying to get one of these for two and a half years now.
It is a Silver two speed and will be called the Terminator.
This is one of the earliest Everol reels made. 7 1/2 /0 Two Speed, with dual handle positions and dual levers.

Daron, I'm thinking of another 12 or 14 in silver and a purple 12 for my wife. I can use smaller reels because I'm blessed with blue water, shorter shore drops and braid. ;D
The 12/0 is filled with straight 130lb copolymer right now. 1.080mm. Thinner than your average 130 and it took about 800 yrds. Was worried on one hookup today.

Really, this was a long time ago. It is old news. I made this twelve, thirteen years ago and was very, very involved in the intricacies of it. Suffice to say that it is a rather long story, and I honestly just don't feel like getting sucked into that whirlpool again right now. We will save that for another time, ok? The thread was called, show your Everols. So I did; there it is.
Besides, I have other reel fish to fry now.

12/0 got 'ER done. Had a charter today and got these guys on a Marlin. 230lbs and got to see the 12/0 in action. It lost free spool. With the lever all the way back it still has 2-3lbs of drag. Pain for dropping back lures.

14 lbs is what the Manual says. It feels Heavier to me. My 18/0 held 5 lbs of line.
I already Have the Godfather Rod if I ever decide to spool it.
With the detachable butt, I just need another short Stuart #4.

80-130lb rod will work fine. Even though my reels are capable of 60-100lbs of drag I only fish them at 35lbs. It's all you need. Put any more and your bending or pulling hooks.

That is a rare piece. I don't collect Cradle reels, But I guarantee if you buy that for the $100 price tag. It is worth at least 5 times that much, if not more.
I know that Everol and Penn uses the same numbers for their reel class (4/0, 6/0, etc), but how close are they to each other in actual size when compared to each other? I ask because I noticed even though the everol 6/0 is listed as a 50lb class reel like the penn's 6/0, the line capacity of the former is much larger, closer to a the 9/0, I think. It's a huge discrepancy, but I don't know if the everol is being very generous with their line capacities or if their 6/0s and 9/0s are just bigger than penn's. I don't want to buy a 9/0 everol Nd find out it is much bigger than what I expected.
If you are going to splurge for an Everol. I would buy a newer one. Parts are readily available.
Expect it to be big. Like you said, the 6/0 is the size of a 9/0. The 14/0 is as big as a 16/0.
The only model that seems close is the 12/0.
My Waterproof Super 50's are the size of a 70 VSX International; about 1/3 more line capacity than Penn 50 VSW.
I was afraid of that. I was hoping the two companies willingly kept it to somewhat of a uniform standard :-\ knowing the 6/0 everol is pretty much the same line capacity as the senator 9/0, I would buy the 6/0 everol in a heartbeat, but their max drag is only at 18lbs. I'm not a drag junkie, but wanted a least 25lbs for a rail setup for tuna. Anyone own a 7 1/2 everol? I'm not ready to buy anything too big, until I find a reason to. Daron, its good to know that parts are readily available. I didn't think it was. I'm guessing parts are available from the US everol distributor?
I buy mine straight from Italy. The last time I tried to order parts from Everol USA. They didn't answer.
That 18lbs of drag is at full spool. At half spool its 27bs. Toward the end its 54lbs.
I don't have anything smaller than a 12/0 Everol. I have seen a 9/0 that Keith had in his shop. It was big.
12/0 Penn and 12/0 Everol.
14/0 Everol and Penn 16/0.

I appreciate the comparison photos. It definitely puts into perspective how huge the Everols are compared to the Senators. Still undecided on whether or not I will be getting a 6/0. I know about the drag increasing as amount of line decreases, but I want to be able to put some serious pressure if I need to in close combat. The shorter the battle, the better the steaks or so I've heard. Maybe I'll just buy the 7.5/0 and deal with the extra expense, as well as the extra weight. It would be so much easier if I just got an Penn International, but there's just something about the Everols. It's got that modern/retro look to it, and the design of the drag is just so different.

It is actually a little more. The lever goes beyond the scale a bit, so really it is often more like 22 or something like that when bottomed out to sunset.

I think it takes three to qualify as a collection, but my wife gave me a matched pair of Waterproof Super 50's for our tenth anni in 2006....Love that women...1050 yds of 50 lb mono....frame thicker than Internationals, they're beasts. I spool with 80 Ande for wahoo shotgun in the spread. Mated to Star 50IGFAHG rods.

Purchased my first Vintage Everol this week.
A 4/0 that looks new. Dom twisted my arm a bit and I'm glad he did.
Black plate indicates 60's to early 70's.
Of all places, it was in a fly reel shop in Vermont.

I'm glad that reel went to someone with a passion for learning, tinkering, and fishing with Everols. I agree, It was an odd place to find a saltwater reel to say the least, which is why it went mostly unrecognized. Looking forward to seeing what ya catch with it.

Valmont is only a few hours from the coast. There are a lot of Giant Tuna caught in N.H. This past Fall they had an 800# & 900# fish. A few years ago there was a 1000# fish caught single handed.
They specialized in Fly fishing only. Not one spinner or baitcaster on their website. All Fly Reels.

I recently came into a 4/0 waterproof series everol. I was in a used tackle store in Okinawa Japan and to be honest before that day I had never heard of everol but when I picked up the reel I could tell it was made with quality. even if it looked like someone was cracking clams with it. It was for sale for the equivalent of 60$ and my wife decided she wanted to buy it for me since she could see how on the fence I was. I took it apart and found out the main gears were very worn and when the drag would increase the gears would slip while spinning. I'd love to get this reel repaired and show my wife I love using it and I'm thankful for the gift but I haven't found any where to get parts or even somewhere to send it into. I'd rather fix it myself since I enjoy doing that but would be willing to do what ever it takes.

Or you could attempt it yourself...
If do, tou will need to clean the bearings, replace any that exhibit roughness, and you may need to use shims to account for wear. You likely have a spacing issue with the gear slippage and I would try to correct it with a simple service first, before considering replacing the main gear since it is expensive. Pay attention to parts placement and orientation when dissasembling, and make sure to lubricate everything properly. Let us know if you have any specific problems with tue service. Pictures help here.

Those reels were sort of an early hybrid between the Specials and WP series, so that schematic isn't really quite right, but i suppose you've noticed that by now.
Yeah I did notice that. It's been awhile since I took it apart but it seemed like from what I could remember the main gear that is worn and slipping isn't on it.
Yes, your main gear is more like that of the Special series, with the integral antireverse. Just send an email to the adress Shark Hunter provided and see what they have available. I checked my own stash of gears and found some stuff, but check with Everol first.

In the pic are my new old everols - special 2 80lb and cairns 14/0. I got a steal on them and intend to fish them hard shoulder to shoulder with my Tiagras for bft.
14/0 is grat with very smooth drag, the scale works perfectly. 80 is much rougher and drag is very sticky, starts hard an then lets go...
I'm hoping if somebody has some info on them, maybe years and schematics.

Thanks for the answer. I think handle on 9/0 is new style, maybe it has been replaced during the years ??? I started opening it and of course it has some stripped hex heads(7/64 ???) any advice?... I suspect it needs nothing more than cleaning and lubrication but we'll see about that...

Managed to loose all right plate screws with help of torx head(will be needing some screws in the future) Everything looks lubed, no corrosion, there is no AR bearing, just brass bushing. I've reassembled it until tomorrow when I'll try to adress the sticky drag...
Everol reels are pretty easy to work on if you watch the sequence of parts and keep one eye on the nearest schematic. As others have said, there are many minor differences which might not show on the diagrams but there is a great posting here somewhere on alantani.com on stripping and rebuilding a 12/0. I remember it shows some old mono caught up in the works somewhere,
If a simple but thorough clean-up of the drag disks doesn't cure the stickiness, Everol Italy can supply replacements. I think many of the parts are interchangeable going back to the very first Everol reels. There are new carbon-fibre drags available too. Paulo at Everol in Italy is a very helpful chap and speaks/writes excellent English. You will eventually have a first-class reel that will last for ages.

Thanks for the tutorial, it was more than helpful, i disassembled the reel, cleaned the old grease and relubed with shell marine grease. Everything looks and feels like new inside. I've cleaned drag disc with brake cleaner, and stickiness is gone. Will be needing complete set of screws because many of them have rounded heads, so left side of the frame and foot will wait.

That handle is nice, they would look great on my reels, opposite of Bakelite old ones. I believe that only handle knobs have to be replaced?
I'll try and send Paolo email and ask for quote for handles, screws and maybe carbon drag set for 9/0. Do I have to have part numbers?
The newer style handles are one unit. The arm and handle don't come apart.
My 18/0 had a bent handle arm. I ordered the replacement with the ergo grip.
I can't remove the handle on the bent arm without destroying it.
Yes, but that one big Everol can do things the many smaller reels can't.

Thanks for that Shark Hunter; I'm glad it helped you Chukie. I too got hold of a 12/0 Cairns model that needed a thorough service and that tutorial was magic. Absolute tank of a reel and more than capable of holding its own against (almost) any fish I could tackle. Judging from the silvery (rather than golden) colour of my reel, I think it is a pretty old model and had a very old handle style. Still for 200 Euro...

Not a scratch on it. It doesn't have the full frame, it has some posts instead.
Based on the serial number, My best guess is 1983.
When I opened the box, I said to myself, This reel looks small?
Got out my 9/0 wide and they are the same.
