Holy catz, Mr. Shark, that is one massive reel!!  :o
How much does it weigh empty? It'll take two days to fill it with line under tension...

I don't suffer from insanity... I enjoy every minute of it!  :D

Jeez!
What a reel...
And MISS Mari thought I was nuts when I bought my two International 80,s😎
There is nothing like lying flat on your back on the deck, alone except for the helmsman aft at the wheel, silence except for the lapping of the sea against the side of the ship. At that time you can be equal to Ulysses and brother to him.

12/0 got 'ER done. Had a charter today and got these guys on a Marlin. 230lbs and got to see the 12/0 in action. It lost free spool. With the lever all the way back it still has 2-3lbs of drag. Pain for dropping back lures.

Nice Job Chris!
Aiala,
The reel weighs 14 lbs empty.

Simply incredible... and the line will add, what, 2-4 lbs?? Do you have a compatible rod for it? (If not, I'll bet Dwight could build you something downright awesome.  ;) )

14 lbs is what the Manual says. It feels Heavier to me. My 18/0 held 5 lbs of line.
I already Have the Godfather Rod if I ever decide to spool it.
With the detachable butt, I just need another short Stuart #4.

A Telephone Pole would work perfectly

The reel is Beautiful
I have not failed.  I just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

80-130lb rod will work fine. Even though my reels are capable of 60-100lbs of drag I only fish them at 35lbs. It's all you need. Put any more and your bending or pulling hooks.

I'm surprised there aren't any older models floating around here.

Keith is holding out on us. I saw his latest 9/0 when I paid him a visit three weeks ago.
I too would like to have some Vintage ones, but I haven't found one nice enough yet.
I have the 20, 18 and 14 two speed. I need to start working down the list.

12/0 got 1200 yrds of 130lb hollow core . Got about 350 yrds of 130 mono on top. It's grander time.

Guys who have them aren't selling.
I used to be in a constant state of improvement.  Now I'm in a constant state of renovation.
