Is it just so you can actually preset your drag??

It's designed so that you have a minimum and maxiumum set drag so you would have adjustability without creating a situation where to increase the drag too much.

Interesting concept and a neat product. I don't want to be limited. To me, its like trying to shoot something at close range with a big scope on your rifle. Its too late to change your mind.
When I'm getting dragged in, I know my drag is set too high.
