Can anyone give me some advice or "How To" to increase the drag on a Penn 210 level wind reels ? If I'm understanding this correctly, I can increase the drag by going with thinner plate and carbon washers. Thinner plates and carbon washers equal more plates and washers. Is that correct ?

What would be the life expectancy of thinner plates and washers after catching a couple 50 pound fish ?

Thanks for any info, Mic

Keta

Yes, that is correct.

The 210 uses a Jigmaster drag kit.  Bryan has thin washer kit that work and hold together well.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

If you use a wet drag system (meaning greased with drag grease), the drag washers, metal and Carbontex, should last the life of the reel as long as the reel is serviced periodically and the drag washers are whipped down and re-greased at each service.

:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

Yawl are tuff to beat!
I'll be getting a set for the hot dry conditions I live in. I guess now I need to locate some good "Power Handel" up grades to go with these upgrades.
I'll be contacting you next Alan!

Thanks again for the fast help!
