Some fun fishing up there and obviously a nice variety.

Almost choked on my lunch though when I hit the funny faces with fish set, lol.
Yep that was funny.  Thanks for the report Steve-O.  Dom-O  ;D :D
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

Steve, keep it coming! Best play by play I've seen in a while. Looks like a perfect trip so far; you can't control the weather so you adapt. The red Irish lord is a very cool looking fish. As you know they ain't in Kerr Lake lol

Thanks again for following along and my apologies for falling down on the play by play....fishing keeps getting in the way.

Tomorrow is my last day and today was packed with fishing.  As was yesterday.

The much anticipated shark catching was a bust!   Wahhhh!

I put in the time and caught the ubiquitous sculpin which lurch beneath all in SE AK. Several small sole, and two Dungeness Crabs...yep, on a rod and reel. Lost two others and pulled up a Red Stone Crab.

Today' fishing went from 600 am to 815 pm...non stop.  Hit the river- got 6 nice coho. Released a bunch of jack salmon and 4 smaller or blush Coho. Filleted them and then the Idaho boys came by for Pacific Cod jigging off my dock.

In two hours we put 32 on deck. Then cleaned them and sent the guys on their way. Fishing the pull out up the street and blanked but did scored some Tuna- albacore, I believe.

Scored as in found the carcasses in the pull out where our neighbor had tossed them after cleaning.

Then went out on the dock for night jigging...real slow. Only a few sculpins were landed and one big something which got off. Had a sea lion working some school of fish between my dock and the neighbors and now and then would catch and scarf up a decent sized salmon but it was too dark to discern the species. I cast in near him to spook him off or hook what it was catching. Stayed over an hour. Whales were blowing out in the bay.

A couple of pics and then off to print a couple fish for my bud from ID.

Then to bed...I am falling asleep at the wheel.

Okay...did half a dozen gyotaku prints of a diminutive  Rock Sole we caught today while I sipped a Ginger Beer....Cock-n-Bull....not bad at all...and the prints came out decent, too. First time ever had one or even seen one though it came up in a conversation once.

Oh! And why I bothered to come back online when I'm past empty and running on fumes.

The Tuna!  Here's one of them.

They were in some kind of bone yard pullout. Must've been a hundred blacktail skeletons and legs strwn everywhere. Creepy. Plus Giant rockfish skeletons, and there lay the Albacore Tuna carcasses. Wah, wah, wahhhhhh!

Pretty sure our neighbor Capn, Kirk dropped those off after his recent outing to get some.
