Hey Everybody,

My Father in law (Roger), Brother in law (Ryan), and I went out to do some fishing on Saturday, January 4th. We launched out of Crisp Park and started hitting the residential docks on the south side of Snell Isle and into Coffeepot Bayou. We were drifting with the current and were able to cover a lot of water quickly. We were using DOA CAL Jigs and DOA Shrimp. We caught a bunch of Ladyfish and Lizard Fish. I jumped a small Tarpon in the first channel at the first set of docks where we started our drift, but he spit the hook. My father in law caught a Black Sea Bass at an old busted dock. We were slaying the Ladyfish and Lizard Fish on almost every cast, but lost a lot more than we landed. We made it to a small mangrove island where we got a Spotted Seatrout and a Ladyfish to the boat, when all of a sudden the dolphin watching boat came flying right through where we were fishing and spooked everything. We then moved to the very back of Coffeepot Bayou and started fishing back there. We got a few strikes on the jigs, but no hookups. While drifting, Roger got a wind knot. He left the lure in the water as he got rid of the knot. His drag started screaming (More like talking quietly). He set the hook and landed a small Sand Seatrout. We decided that it was time to start working our way to the launch. We fished our way back to where we started and caught a few more small ones. I hooked a nice Trout that spit the hook at the boat. I nearly dove in after it! All in all, it was nice to get on the water and hang out with my buddies.

Regards,
Dan

Good report.  Get out more often and keep up the photos.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.
