hi, just a quick question. when I stack two carbontex drags together to make them thicker should I also be adding drag grease between them?

Rancanfish

Both sides just like normal.  I don't slather it on, I rub it in with my fingers and call it good.  You won't notice any difference if you do or you don't.

Put it back together and fish it.  Good luck.
I woke today and suddenly nothing happened.

It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

That's what I thought. Just wanted to verify. Thanks.

If you need more height in the drag stack, I'm just curious why you don't get some extra metal washers and actually KNOW you're adding more drag to the reel and not less?

Sid, there are certain situations, such as some Sealines, where you need to overcome a ridge in the main gear, other wise the first metal washer bottoms out on the main gear, killing part of your drag. Doubling the washers usually works. That's one scenario I can think of.

Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Pretty much this right here. I was wondering why I was only getting a max of 25lbs and not the 35lb others were talking about for their 600hs. That was until I looked at your tutorial for setting up the drag stack. So I double checked my drag and found the eared washer wasn't fully in contact with the carbonfiber washer underneath. Instead of lengthenin the grooves on the gear with a dremel like you did, I decided to try doublestacking to compensate for the space between. I just have to purchase one from Dawn whenever she comes back.
