I have a Jigmaster with the red aluminum spool, all in pristine condition. However, many years ago, I somehow managed to accidentally push in that little peg on the bottom of the spool, where you tie the line onto. I guess I need to remove the shaft / spindle to push the pin back out. The question is, is it possible to do? As far as I can tell, I'd have to break a weld on the clicker side of the shaft, to remove the clicker gear first. Am I missing something?

Btw, the reel works fine, (as y'all know, many spools don't even have that peg), but I'd still like to fix it.

I personally would not worry about it.  I never tie off on the little peg even if the peg is there.  I will often remove them because it will bind with the line and possibly cut it should a fish strips the line from the reel
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

I would not try to repair it either.  With my talent I would destroy a nice red aluminum spool.

There is a very high chance you will destroy the spool when you remove the shaft and as far as I'm concerned it's better where it is.
Hi, my name is Lee and I have a fishing gear problem.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

Okie-dokie, it's worked fine like this for decades, so be it. Tanx y'all.
