Custom insert for the 114H & 115L

Regrettably, we haven't heard from Adam (3sevens) in a long time. It is likely he has stopped operating Motive Fabrication, though it is possible someone here on the site may have a set they are willing to part with. Adam made some seriously nice parts.

Also regrettably they commonly failed under the higher drag pressures they were meant to be used. The ears of the drag material would round off. Especially if greased.

You could try a set of 7+1 drag sets from Bryan. They use the original CF Penn drag washers with thinner metal washers. It gives you 7 washers in the same space as the original 5 with at least 10 more #'s of drag. They are available from Mystic under the 114H & 115L listings. That way if you ever have to replace them you can use original Penn CF washers.     Rudy

wondering how many times this set was used on the max pressures in order to give up or even what kind of sea monsters were caught on the good'old 6/0 reel. Sal tested them before being available to sell reaching 70# drag but sometimes laboratory tests arent the same than real world test.
