Shimano TLD 5

How much Cals grease should I put on the new Smooooth Drag Carbontex Drag washer? Grease both sides?
The reel is a Shimano TLD 5. This is a lever drag not star drag.

Hey Bill,

I don't know any thing about the TLD's but in the Tld 15 tutorial, Alan Tani greases it all up, installs it and then wipes off the excess with a rag. Make sure you get the edges to keep saltwater intrusion out.

Hope that gets you back to work on your reel anyway!

Just like he said.

Grease both sides and edges. Let it sit a minute. Lightly grease inside the spool where the washer will sit. Set the greased washer in and clean off the excess with a rag until it looks all gone.
