Haven't posted for a few years so I'm out of touch.  My question is whether anyone has modified a 12/0 so that it has more disks/washers?  I'm not so much interested in increasing the drag, per se, as reducing the amount of pressure on each washer to achieve the same drag on the line.  I'd like to try this in order to minimize the heat buildup during very long runs.  I've had at least one strike that stripped off about 900 yards on the initial run (maybe 30 pounds of drag coming directly out of the reel), so I know those critters are out there.  While I do have a 14/0, it's getting kinda heavy.
I used to be in a constant state of improvement.  Now I'm in a constant state of renovation.

Hey Albert!
Where have you been buddy? It is good to see you again! ;D
I have added an extra washer to my 12/0's, but while you were gone, we came up with some real improvements for these classics.
Mainly an insert kit. It yields a lot more drag than stock and is way smoother with less pressure needed.
Also stainless sleeves for half of what they cost from electra mate with an extra tooth added.

Thank you Daron.  Will check out the new "system".
