penn 4/0 wide

I have to admit, wife got a down payment on a new car  with tax money.  I got to buy two Penn 4/0 hlw reels off Fleabay.  USA made.  I had no idea how much difference the bearings would make.  After 100% tear down and soak.   I can cast these on my surf rods and I honestly cant see where it lands. 
Sorry for not believing the difference between the black sides and the high speed reels.  Both of these will be left to my boys after I am done with them.
