Thread pitch for 6501 C3 drive shaft

One of the reels I've recently picked up has some chowdered thread on the upper part of the drive shaft. This makes it difficult to get the star drag on and off. Any idea of the right size die to chase the threads?

i don't know that you will find a tap and die set for this, but i would just grease the threads and then chase them with the star.  if the damage is sufficient, you may have to order both parts new.
