I signed up for the derby.  Do you supply bait?  What else do I need?  Dominick

you'll have to get your own bait.

you'll need waders and a life jacket for starters, a good steelhead spinner and a reel with braid, a sand spike, surf leaders and 6 to 8 ounce pyramid sinkers.  eddie likes blood worms the best, but you will have to go south to coyote bait and tackle to get them.  soft shell sand crabs, ghost shrimp, pile worms, even artificials like berkley gulp might work.  alternatively, you can curly tail grubs on a carolina rig and constantly "cast and retrieve," but that's alot of work.

i just got mine at the local fisherman's warehouse.  not sure of the brand. they're at the cayucos house, so they don't get much use.

Not many places to find a pair that fit. That's why I don't have a set.

Waders aren't a must.
I've gone out there with rubber boots.
I don't get in the surf at Francis.
I wear wader pants and wading boots in case the occasional large wave comes a ways up the beach. I've only gotten water up to my ankles, maybe calves.

Neoprene stocking foot waders are warm and comfortable if you can find a good boot to go with them.

No one makes custom sized waders anymore except a place in Oregon. So i need to get my measurments and call them.
