this is what i tell guys that are going fishing with me. 

gentlemen, i'm looking forward to this trip.  the run we will make on sunday is long, but the fishing spots are the best that northern california has to offer.  here are some links to past trips....

the weather forecast calls for 4-6 knots of wind with a 1 foot wind wave and a 6 foot swell every 11 seconds.  it's the type of slow lazy swell that can really get people sea sick!

so here's the drill.....

saturday (tomorrow) afternoon.  everyone head over to eric's house (i will be at work already) and try on boots, foul weather gear and life jackets.  note that each life jacket is equipped with a strobe light, a set of flares, light sticks, a whistle and a vhf radio and an integrated gps.  i will go through the function of the radio when we are on the water, so don't fiddle with the radio ahead of time.  pick the boots, foul weather gear and life jacket that fit you, bag them and scribble your name on the bag. 

saturday evening - take a 50mg tablet of dramamine at 7pm.  figure on falling asleep at 8pm.  set your alarm for 3am.  this way you will get 7 hours of solid sleep.  it will be a very long day.  if you get enough sleep, you will stay sharp all day and you be less prone to sea sickness.  now, go to sleep and stay asleep. 

sunday morning - 3am, up and at 'em!  take another 50mg dramamine now.  be at my place at 4am.  you will need the bag containing your boots, foul weather gear and life jacket.  you will also need your fishing license and your lunch. 

we leave at 4am.  it takes 1.5 hours to get to monterey.  sleep in the car if you can.  the dramamine tablet that you took an hour ago should help. 

at 5:30am, we will arrive in monterey and launch the boat.  by 6am we should be underway.  it takes an hour to get to the fishing grounds.  we should be fishing from 7am to noon.  we will quit sooner if you catch your limit of fish before hand. 

the trip home should be the reverse of the trip down.  when we get home, i will need help scrubbing the boat and the truck.  if everyone pitches in, we should be done by 5pm.  that gives you time for a quick shower.  dinner will be more enjoyable if you have a chance to clean up first.  the guest room will be available at my house for showers. 

we will let lisa figure out what to do with the fish.
