Its gears, screws, and bearings should be in good shape protected by that goo the past 50-60 years.  Cool Smiley

That looks like a black textured finish rather than the usual shiny smooth charcoal gray. If so, clean that puppy up and put him on the shelf. Black textured 2070, 80 & 90 Sea Wonders are rare and pretty valuable. If it is a textured example, nice find! I sure wouldn't fish it if it were mine.
