Pacifica sportfishing boat ran aground

Early yesterday morning the surf fishermen reported this as well as a local sandiego news station. They reported they were returning from an overnight trip to seaforth and somehow ended up aground in mission bay. 17 passengers were rescued and 4 crew stayed aboard waiting to assist the tow barge.

They got it off the beach and it's back in it's slip apparently with minimal damage. Very fortunate end to what could have been a tragedy.

Wake up the captain and tell him to turn on the GPS & look out the windshield.

A friend who I fish with was on that boat when they ran aground. They are extremely lucky on many fronts: could have hit the jetty or another vessel. If there was any kind of swell, the stern would have taken breaking waves. This outcome was the best possible scenario: no injuries or damage to the vessel - unfathomably lucky for all involved.
