Recommend a vintage Penn reel for speckled trout/pompano?

Ok, well maybe I will entertain a spinning reel then from Penn; I guess I can be OK with it as long as it's vintage.  What would your ideal recommendation be for a spinning reel for speckled trout (sea trout).  And yes it is similar to fresh water bass fishing.  Trout in the Gulf of Mexico average 2-3 pounds.

Agreed, this is my favourite size. 714/Z, or a 430ss if you can find one.
