Yep, Photobucket stinks! They are holding our photos hostage if you're using more than something like 25MB. They want you to pay like $400 per yr. :o
Others have changed their way of posting using other means cause Photobucket continues to do stuff like this.

yep, that the way photobucket is working-showing pics currently

Every time I see one of my old posts with burry photobucket pics I edit the post with new pictures, normally use the "attachment" option.

Hi, my name is Lee and I have a fishing gear problem.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

When something is free in this day and age -- we can expect it to change at any moment to a profit oriented system -- nothing wrong with that.

We just need to know this as well as be ready for the rug to be pulled out from under us -- and not be surprised when it happens.

We need to be the Master of our own destiny -- as best we can.  Basically in control as much as possible.

We can rely on others -- but even that changes over time.

Hard work, smart work, and being able to judge things accurately are important.

My grandmother used to tell me --

"I started out with nothing -- and still have most of it left..."

Like Lee sez -- dump photobucket -- get something else that works better -- that YOU are in control of -- and move on...

Just my opinions...

I refuse to be forced into installing another extension into my browser just to get around this.

If you use the AT gallery then your photo should remain with your post for as long as the AT site is alive.  I should do that too, but instead use an option that is quicker for me.

It would be an easy decision if only we could predict how the technology and commerce will evolve.

Yes, sometimes free apps become pay apps, but what Photobucket has done is exceptionally nasty. I don't recall anything quite as bad in my long years of IT experience.

Is anyone aware of an astute computer whiz who has conjured up a new edition of a Photobucket add-on fix so these older photos can be unblurred?

As Steve (oc1) mentioned, uploading your photos to My Gallery and linking them to your post will assure they won't be held for ransom by Photobucket.

I also use the alantani.com image base for uploading any photos I want to use in a post. It's definitely the best way since it's part of the AT website.

Here is how I do it,
I use an extension in chrome, or firefox,
but I USE this browser ONLY for browsing, no bank or sensitive stuff.
as the extension can see stuff on your page,

This is the extension for chrome one can use.

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/photobucket-hotlink-fix/kegnjbncdcliihbemealioapbifiaedg?hl=en

So here are the steps:

1. Install firefox browser
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

2. add the add on
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/photobucket-embedded-fix/?src=search

do the same for chrome if you want to use chrome.

I am confused here. I never have problems with photobucket. Just logged in again to see and no issue.
