Does anyone else use 3 in 1 oil along with grease,I have seen it make some rough reels slick.I also discovered some oil we have used at work for years. It's aircraft grade oil <Brayco 300> made by Castrol good to -70 degrees F, is some good stuff.Someone tell me if it shouldn't be done ?
Thanks

I used 3-1 and corrosion block for years before i got onto AT. As the boss would say, main thing is use something rather than nothing. I think it works fine particularly on spinners; using it in casting bearings its just not as fast as say SpeedX, Corrosion X or TS321, etc.

My 0.02 in my personal experience- regular maintainence and lube goes a long way no matter what you use, excepting WD40. good to wipe off reels but poor as a bearing lubricant.

I don't use 3 in 1 muck anymore, but FWIW I was told by a Senco nail gun tech back in 1972 that there was something in 3 in 1 that would deteriorate the piston O rings. I doubt that would have much effect on fishing reels unless it got to neoprene, nitrile, epdm, etc., or some plastics.
Love those open face spinning reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco Cardinals)
