Hello folks, I'm looking for a tutorial for the subject reel. Serial #811201.  I believe this model was manufactured around 1981. I could use
some insight on how the thumb bar and internal spring goes together.

Thanks for the quick response. I found the schematic but I'm looking for a tutorial. The schematic just isn't clear enough to see how the thumb bar engages inside the right side plate.

Well it is pretty straight forward in that you should make sure  the thumb bar is pulled all the way up when inserting  plate assembly in to the pin . Look closely to ensure the pin goes in on top of the plastic lever in the side plate assembly

If you have taken all the Guts out of the bidness end of the side plate and are having trouble putting it back together let us know .
Not sure if that is what your dilemma is .

I went to sleep watching this Video last night  but replayed it twice and NEVER saw him tear into the Real Goodies or show how the Bidness side re engaged Thumb amajiggie to the lever . So I didn't post it .
MAYBE it is there and I missed it .
Still not sure if he needs to see how the internal mechanism's are positioned or just how the assembly engages the Thumb Pad.
There are a couple more videos out there that don't show anything more than cleaning the spool and lever wind mechanisms .

there's  a little oval in the side plate, red arrow on the attached pic.
The pin from the thumb bar goes in there, behind the plate 20685. The pin isn't visible in the schematic though.

I have just finished cleaning and setting up a c4, c, and Royal Express. Each of them is slightly different internally, but the engagement of the thumb bar pin is the same.
Hold the bar up while fitting it all together and wiggle until it seats.
