  Glad to see you use it and got a feel for it .   With that said ,may i suggest that you build a stick spiraled wound guided { acid wrapped ] for more control .  With the low center of the reel and acid wrapped , it becomes rock steady to reel .

WOW!!  Is that an old hickory cradle and rod, and/or split cane?
