Hmm. Doesn't this mean that the sardine can't really swim? That has to affect the effectiveness doesn't it? A dropper rig with the bait on a foot or two of leader would look more natural I would think...

The great thing about this rig is you can drop it fast and get it to the zone before the fish are gone and it can't tangle.

It does limit the baits ability to swim a lot but it does still move around a lot.

Hi Steve,

With the drop shot rig, would you hook the bait sideways through the nose or vertically starting from the lower jaw to the nose?
