Thank you to those that donated the  parts and Cal's for the 1:1 low gear.  Turnaround at Cal's was less than 2 weeks.  It is spooled with 130# hollow JB Line 1 and the drag is set to 40# at strike.  I can get more drag but I do not need it.

Plan A is to put it on a 5'6" 100# rod, catch a skipjack and drop it to the bottom and see what eats it.

Yup, but a MAK50 SEa wasn't sitting on my shelf gathering dust.

Yup, I fish my VISX 20 and 16 far more than my 50's now.

I caught this 212#  BFT last May on my VISX 16 and 80# gear.

My biggest BFT was 225# on a Mak 50 as was my 270# YFT in PV on Alan's Mak 50.

My largest BFT, 338#, and YFT, 258#, were caught on Avet 50 SDS reels.
