Found 'Em and They Were Hungry

This rarely happens, but we caught our red grouper limit (2 per person) in less than 2 hours. Also picked up some nice lane snapper which to me are tastier than grouper. Caught these Saturday right before the cold front. Biggest red grouper was around 28". All grouper caught on threadfin herring. Wouldn't touch the squid. Trip before squid was the hot bait.

I did on this trip so just changed my rig to lighter weight and smaller circle hooks. Felt a little bad using my grouper rod on these little snapper. I bring a medium spinner for the snapper, but had it rigged for mahi as a couple of small schools came by: no luck with them though.
