 I have stripped down 3 of these reels to play with . One thing that was on the back burner was to cut one side plate for the double dog set up .   What I want to try is make a end cap for the cut off with J B weld so it would not be open to water intrusion   .  It will be a couple days before I get back to this project .
I had some time to play with this end plate mod , here is what I have so far.
  I drilled deeper in the shaft and crossed drilled .
I threaded the bushing 1/2 - 20 and will use a acorn nut for the cap.

Yeah, I like it. The cork I used had a "rustic" look to it🤪, but it's easy to switch sides.
Fishing tackle is an art form and all fish caught on the right tackle are"Gfish"!
