I want to put a reel seat on my 80 inch Truline rated for 20-50lb.d
I built this rod many years ago without a reel seat. It has always had a Jigmaster on it but now I have a boat and want to put my Senator 113H on it for trolling 40 lb. mono and think I should have a reel seat. I went to a shop that had a box of NOS Varmacs but many had cracked hoods and I don't want to rewrap this rod and end up with a cracked hood. Looking for reel seat suggestions that would look nice with Chrome guides, cork ring handle and maybe a gimble. (Don't want to spend too much because I have a Seeker 550 that needs a re-do too.)

I have a few varmacs, I'll check if I have one that will fit when I get home tonight
Do what you can with that you have where you are

No love on the varmacs, all I have are a couple #6 which are huge. I have some other older reel seats that might work for you. Post up the diameter and I can check

I've never heard of a properly installed Fuji seat failing. I am but one voice in the maelstrom. But still it's one loud, enthusiastic vote for a Fuji DPSM or DPSD in an appropriate size.
Any machine is a smoke machine if you use it wrong enough.

Fuji would be a good choice, I was kinda thinking he was looking for something more period correct
Any idea what model truline it is? Usually it's written in sharpie somewhere on the butt end typicallly under the butt cap or rear grip
