Guy brought by a couple of tiny Mitchell 308's that he said one needed a bail spring and was missing some parts, and the other was frozen up.

He tried to do the work himself, but gave up after losing some screws and tiny springs —- and not knowing how they went back together.

I give him credit though —-because he admitted he was stuck —- and had the reels on his garage workbench, in a coffee can for maybe 15 years.

Generally it will be a wife who brings them to me like this.  She says that my husband would like me to put them back together, since he doesn't have the time.  Then she tells me the truth that he took them apart, and has been working on them for weeks —- and we would just like them to be working.  He is really frustrated.

Anyway, complete disassembles, cleaning, polishing, a few new parts, tuning, and adjusting —- now they are both operating as new.

These little Mitchell's are excellent reels.

Also did a Shimano Sahara 1000FD, a Daiwa 1000C, and 2 Daiwa gold Mini-Mites today —- all of which will be for sale.
