I am planning to buy some 113s and 114s locally to rebuild and upgrade the side covers and internals. What would be a fair price to offer someone for them. Most of the ones I see around here  are 113H and 114H
Thanks,  Chris

Hard to say depending on the condition they are in.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

You saying you're going to upgrade the sideplates ? Are you talking about aluminum aftermarket sideplates? All the aluminum aftermarket sideplates are for 113h and 114h. The 113 and 114 are the low speed versions and I've never heard of aftermarket aluminum sideplates for those.

You can get a really nice 113h on ebay for around $50, and a decent 114h for around $60(plus shipping)

Time to be realistic about the scope of your "upgrades".  You can literally build a 113H or 114H from scratch and not even start with a factory reel or a single factory part (well, I have never found an aftermarket eccentric TBH).  Of course, by the time you do that you can easily have the price of a modern 2-Speed wrapped up in the project. - john

This is an interesting question, but a real "it depends on" one, too. What kinda upgrades? I'd guess a completely upgraded 113H/114H could be sold for $300+, starting with aluminum side-plates and adding some stainless steel internals along with a nice aftermarket handle/knob.
