Nope, my 525 Mag with a Torque handle is my go to 20# reel. My go to 30# reel these days is an Avet SX Raptor with the PG 280 the backup.

15# Penn Fathom 12
20# Penn 525 Mag
25# Avet MXJ
30# Avet SX Raptor
40# Penn 25nld2
50# Avet JX Raptor
60# Avet HX Raptor
80# Okuma Makaira 16 Sea
100# Okuma Makaira 20 Sea

I don't have any Squalls. I still have a 525, 525 Mag, 535 and 545. The 525 Mag is the only one I use often. I like the 545 w/5.3:1 gears for local 30# when I don't want to risk a fancier reel getting banged up. But since I now have my own boat that isn't a problem.

Bill I like your style :)

The OP's question leaves to many variables to things like fish being targeted, method of catch and other things. So with that being the case my reply may be just as vague.

#1 The reel I'm holding when I land a fish of a lifetime.

#2 The reel a buddy is holding when he or she lands a fish of their lifetime.

#3 and 4 (This takes two spots because it is just so much fun to watch) When I'm laughing my rear end off when my buddy finds out he or she is way under gunned and I watch a fish kick their butt.

#5 A reel I'm holding when I find out I'm way under gunned and I should of stepped up to something bigger. Not as fun as 3 and 4 but it is pretty funny to me ;)

Penn 114-6/0 HLW-USA made(line capacity, sturdy construction, avalible upgrades)
Any Accurate I can justify the $ for( construction materials & tolerances, though I wish they'ed get ridda the ARB's)
Penn Jigmaster 500-USA made older ones(size, function, avalible upgrades, ease of service, avaliblility)
Avet SX6/4-MC(construction, function, ease of service fora lever drag, no ARB!)
Shimano tld 15(weight/function ratio, purchase price, line capacity/weight ratio)

What I would like to have:

1. Maxel Transformer FC70H
2. Shimano Talica 8 (Although an Okuma Andros A would be good too)
3. Shimano Talica 12
4. Shimano Talica 25 II (Or a Makaira)
5. Shimano Talica 50 II

What I have instead:
1. Chinese copy of a Maxel Transformer
2. Okuma Metaloid 5Ns
3. Shimano Torium 20
4. Shimano Talica 25 II
5. Penn International II 80S

All nice reels, but I feel like I should buy more Talicas.

I'm with you Joe size wise.  It's obvious we don't fish tuna!  ;D

-Cortez Squidder.
-Penn 955,965.
-Newell 200 series w/ Tib frames.
-Pro Gear 545.
