Bearing Removal

Hi Everyone
I'm going to upgrade the spool bearings in my Shimano Torium 16s, 20s, and 30.  The issue I'm having is getting the bearings out of the left side plates and off the spool shafts.  I have to admit, that since I've never done this before, I'm probably being a bit too careful about putting any elbow grease in to the effort, but that's why I'm asking the experts
