While spring is coming I wanted to show a preview of a winter project i,ve been working on.  The picture shows 70#of lead hanging from my "test rod".........this reel will be shown soon but for now just look.........& wonder!!!!!!!!!!gst.

I could have kept adding and may for the reel max test, but just put on 2-3 more pounds at the last,   stopped at 70 pounds.......I didnt want to break anything as the reel wasnt tied down as well as earlier tests Ive done,     When it was over I tried to pull the line out.  Wow! now way.... but a big fish or a good steer could I,m sure...........a live test is planned.

Wow GS! a 12 stack Hex! You really need to put a lock on your photobucket. ;)
Anyone can click on your pic and see what you have taken pictures of. Including Me! ;D

wow...will the spool or side plates handle that much pressure?  Gear sleeve?  Will probably be super smooth at 45 lbs of drag though..  Well done.

GS Don't Play! ;D
I just thought guys should know that if you don't put a lock on your photobucket, anyone can see. I don't care if anyone here sees mine. Its just a bunch of reel stuff, but It seems like an invasion of privacy that anyone can look.

When enough is never enough.....u gota love that.

I recall reading about Zane Grey fishing off Sydney heads in Australia for shark and he writes that he had the drag set at 5, 6 and then 7 pounds before pushing the drag up to to 9lbs and remarks "an unprecedented power for me to use". He landed a 13ft 10" Tiger Shark at 1036lb on his Kovalovsky with 9lb's of drag....i wonder what he would have thought of this 114h beast.

I wonder how long that took...  I spend 4 hours fighting a 9' tiger at 18+ lbs of drag...
