I like that handle arm.  Durable/strong, practicle, and it looks good.  Nice job!

With the frame turned the other way, line will rub on the frame for about the bottom 1/4 of the spool.

That's what I thought, too, but the guys told me to reverse it, so I did. But in any case, I've never been spooled that low, so I don't anticipate difficulties.   :)

The frame is better than your hand.
Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Indeed. I am actually rather attached to my fingerprints.

Little more progress.  Triple dog bridge is in, and ready for testing.  I can't get over how easy it was to put this reel back together with the dogs attached to the bridge.  Just stack the gear and drag on the bridge, set into the side plate, and you're good to go.  Very little grinding was required to clear the additional dogs, probably less than with the usual double dog install.  Naturally, there is very little back play on the handle with the 3 alternating dogs.  And the new grip matches the frame quite well.

I'm eagerly awaiting a chance to fish it.  Guess I better get some line put on it.

Adam, beautiful reel. This is what I came up with for my 4/0 with triple dogs. Sounds awsome!

luck is the residue of design.
