hi guys

I have a stella 6k

the knob is stuck to the shaft of handle. (when i turn the screw, it spins with the shaft) Ill be damned.

The handle shaft some how came lose!!!

I dont even know how. reel has been used less than 3x and there is NO sign of corrosion. plain badluck!

I might have added some TSI  or oil to that portion. but i cant rmb. not like it should loosen the shaft.

alrite. ####. So what do i do now?

gonna try flushing it clean and then adding super glue to the base of the shaft.

Do post some photos.
And keep you superglue away from the reel.

same problem as this

http://pimpmyreel.blogspot.sg/2013/10/cranky-but-lose.html

the part indicated by the blue arrow is lose and spins with the screw so the screw cant be removed.

I would contact shimano.  They may replace it for free especially for a Stella.
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

Shimano have a 10 year warranty over here, if you bought the reel new you should probably contact Shimano like Bryan says.

There are bearings in the knob itself. If its stuck, very likely those bearing are bad as well.
As advise above, you better off sent it back for repair.

bearings are totally good.

reel does not come with warranty as I bought it online.

The thing is i cant remove the screw coz the shaft spins with the screw.

handi2

Since the shaft has broken loose and spinning go ahead and remove the shaft and install one of the aftermarket power knobs.

ShimanoUSA doesn't care where you bought the reel. A USA model Stella is covered under their "Platinum Sevicec" that covers darn near anything for $30 or something.

mine is a JDM stella and i reside in singapore

There is a shimano agent in S'pore that can do the repair for you. I'll be rather surprise to hear that such an expensive reel do not comes with international warranty. I will advise you not to stick any parts of reel with superglue, as they have short lifespan and will cause more problem later on.
