Hi guys,

Has anybody used the new single speed Penn Squall 30LD for jigging? Would like to know how it stood up and if the high gear ratio of 6.0:1 posed any problems. I intend using 100-200g (3-1/2 - 7oz) jigs.

Also would like to know how the pinion bearing stood up to beefing up the drag a bit.

Thanks!

The Squall LD uses a Thrust Bearing assembly that virtually eliminates axial load on the Pinion Bearing.

Regardless, it will be a great bargain reel, but limited overtime to how much the frame will withstand.
