Using greased Carbontex drag washers in these reels you will lose some max drag. I have them in 6 reels and more in customer reels.

I do think it's better in the long run because the max drag will be smooth. When pulling up big or multiple fish the motor will keep turning while the drag slips. This causes a lot of heat on the drag system. I've seen the factory washers almost black.

If you wipe all the grease off on a towel they will be greased just right. Just like on a lever drag reel.
