because my hands are greasy and its difficult to search/type with just my pinky...how do i remove the gear sleeve?? im stuck

There is a small brass pin that needs to be removed. Then it will slide right off.
You need a small punch to remove it. It will be about half way up the sleeve.

If you don't have the right punch a paperclip held with a pair of pillars works most of the time.
