A couple of pics from our recent trip. My Triton mark 4 went very well. I removed the magnet cartridge because there was no casting to do.
cheers

Yes it is a morwong.,  bit of fun to catch, but not good to eat.

Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Good to see you out there fishing.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

Thanks for the replies guys. This is a trevally species that is good to eat, unlike some trevallys. It`s a gold spot trevally.

Cool fish Basto...congrats.......I have a NOOB question...some of the fish are not good to eat....why?
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

The Morwong has many names . One being the Mother-in-Law fish because that's who you give it to. Just not a good eating fish . The Chinaman fish , caught in Queensland is a known carrier of ciguatera  so they go back . I suppose they could go to the Mother in Law too , if you really hate her .
I think in Western Australia they keep the Chinaman fish.

Nice fish Basto. What about some photos of Red Emperor, Venus Tuskfish , Coral Cod , Red throat Emperor & Scarlet Sea Perch for some vibrant colours that'' knock their socks off .

Basto,  Fantastic ! . All great fish and what makes the trip so great . Sometimes you don't know what you'll catch next.  Congratulations to the wife for a Red Emperor. Happy to see you both enjoying such a beautiful place to fish .

If photos of these fish does not get anglers excited , they're already dead.

Rothmar2

That's a very nice red there. I reckon they are the finest eating fish there is, a beautiful fish to look at, and fight like hell too. You really earn reds of that quality.
Yeah in West Oz they rate Chinaman's as eaters, and no ciguatera. Pull like trains as well. Some people affectionately call them "gallopers".
Looks like quite a trip there Basto. Any spaniards about during your trip?

These are great fish. Were all of these fish caught on a one day trip? If so, that was a fantastic day of fishing! The size and variety is amazing!
