Carbon fiber against carbon fiber for drag plates?

As a dumb question to many,(most)?  What would be be the expected result of using carbon fiber against a steel or alum drag plate that was covered with another carbon fiber as compared to cf/steel for a drag offering?
  This would be using 2 cf plates rubbing against each other compared to a cf against a steel plate.
     I have a desire to cover a metal machined plate in poor condition but thought twice before running by the persons that know more.
Any feedback is appreciated in the Idea.

Yes Gary, great question. I would think you would get jerky drags.
Here is one that utilizes three steel plates, two as brake plates and one sandwiched between two carbon fiber washers, this is the only reel I know of that has this setup:

If I were to replace the steel brake washer with a carbon fiber washer, I would think that reel would feel jerky and useless.

I too don't think it would work very well. I think it would wear out quickly.

I have to agree with the comments already made, I think the two washers would tear each other apart over a short time. When I scrub serviced CF washers with a rag you can see little bits of the CF pieces I call "CF Lint" wearing off resulting from the friction of the rag against the weave of the CF.

Ya now I see what you are saying about the cf lint.........Im sure its been tries by someone though........ maybe before greasing the cf was common tho?   I just needed to know?
